Job Description for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Common  Job Duties

  • Assist patients with feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming and personal care
  • Promote a safe and comfortable environment for patients
  • Service meals, provide fresh water and snacks between meals
  • Communicate patient information to RN and other nursing staff including changes in condition and needs
  • Use electronic communication systems to relay urgent requirements
  • Check vital signs, weight and record on patient medical sheets
  • Assist patients with travel from rooms to other areas of the facility
  • Collaborate with healthcare team to achieve patient goals while maintaining privacy
  • Assist with showers, baths, shaving and bed pan replacement
  • Schedule and facility individual therapy
  • Provide customer service to patients and their families
  • Report patient care up the chain of command to insure prompt issue resolution
  • Organize and document services provided and observations of patients
  • Remain aware of patient social and psychological well being
  • Document patient behavior, interventions, and patient response on each individual log
  • Answer call lights and other requests
  • Provide comfort by utilizing facility resources and materials
  • Comply with HIPAA guidelines and related laws
  • Assist with Medication and Meal reminders
  • Help with bathing, showering and dressing and getting to and from the dining room
  • Adhere to professional standards, policies and company procedures, and all state, federal and local requirements
  • Participate in educational opportunities and training programs and integrates learning into job role

Office Administrator Job Requirements

  • Completion of a state-approved CNA certification training course
  • Previous experience in nursing, patient care or related fields
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Completion of recognized Medical Assistant certification program
  • Minimum of one-year direct patient care experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with maintenance of a good driving record
  • Valid CPR Certification
  • Ability to Pass a Criminal Background Check
  • Basic computer knowledge required
