Work at Home Jobs

Tired of working the daily grind? Look for opportunities to work at home performing legitimate jobs.

Some work at home resources are scams, so be careful what you get yourself into, but other work at home opportunities can allow you to make a decent living.

Researching the web, you can find opportunities that allow you to work at home performing either freelance work or telecommuting work. Some of the opportunities involve performing simple tasks and other work at home opportunities resemble contract freelance work for defined skill sets such as computer programming or marketing.

You can make a decent income, depending on the opportunity. In most cases, a skilled job will pay more than the general work at home opportunities. Usually, its difficult to become wealthy, but sometimes these work at home opportunities are enough to supplement a family income and can be a great "part-time" job for individuals who stay home with their children.

You should remember that nothing comes easy. If you work at home and run your own business, you can gain financial freedom and independence, but at the same time, you may be subject to the work at home pitfalls, such as paying self employment taxes and large fluctuations in income. Most of the time, you will find that starting to work at home is difficult at first, but with persistency and hard work, you can eventually make reasonable income at home with no responsibilities for reporting to anyone (except the federal government for taxes).

Use some common sense to avoid scams. If the job promises an outrageous income or a free car, then its probably not valid. Many of these positions will enter you into drawings, but not pay you. So, you have to read the fine print, so to speak. Generally, the work is going to pay what you put into it.

Examples of common work at home positions:

  • Mail Order
  • Completing Online Surveys
  • Responding to Emails
  • Price Shopping
  • Research
  • Product Assembly

Examples of skilled work at home positions:

  • Medical Transcriptions
  • Translations
  • Writing/Editing
  • Graphic Design
  • Counseling
  • Computer Programming
  • Photography
  • Crafting

Of course there are many more work at home opportunities, but we suggest you look around and see if there is anything that seems intriguing to you. You may want to do a trial run on some of these opportunities to determine if its right for you.
