Duties of a Real Estate Appraiser
- Computes final estimation of residential and commercial property values, considering depreciation, replacement costs, value comparisons of similar properties, and income potential when doing so
- Evaluate land and neighborhoods where properties are situated
- Inspect properties to evaluate construction, conditions, special features, and functional design
- Obtain county land values and sales information in order to establish property value
- Photograph interiors and exterior properties
- Prepares written reports to estimate property value and outline methods by which the estimations were made
- Check zoning by-laws and building codes in order to determine any effects on the appraised properties
