Common Librarian Job Duties:

  • Responsible for in/out processing, storage repair and maintenance of books and LRC equipment
  • Assist library patrons in locating materials
  • Select, order, catalog and manage print and electronic collections and resources
  • Maintain audio-visual equipments
  • Create, write and update library publications such as manuals, guides, bookmarks, subject guides and other information or library materials
  • Oversee other library employees and volunteers in shelving and inventory of library materials

Common Librarian Job Skills:

  • Knowledge of library policies and procedures, cataloging rules, regulations and resources
  • Utilizes various reference sources effectively
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Superior organizational skills

Common Librarian Job Requirements:

  • Average 3 years prior work in a library environment
  • Average Education:  Master’s Degree in Library Science
