Common Investigator Job Duties:

• Conducts surveillance, both fixed and mobile
• Interviews persons in order to obtain information or facts pertaining to the case or claim
• Performs background/activity checks and courthouse research
• Obtains video evidence, written statements and documentation of subjects
• Gathers and submits evidence
• Records findings in investigative reports
• Testifies to the collected facts obtained for investigations in hearings or courts of law as needed

• Strong attention to detail
• Flexible schedule and available to travel
• Strong computer and internet skills
• Effectively communicates with others
• Ability to analyze complex information
• Works independently

Common Investigator Job Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and suitable vehicle for surveillance
• Minimum Education:  Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field
